We are thrilled to announce that Professor Elaine Chiu will receive the Women’s Leadership Award at AABANY’s 36th Annual Dinner on May 29, 2025 for her impactful work as an advocate and educator.
As the inaugural Chairperson of AABANY’s Anti-Asian Violence Task Force, Professor Chiu led efforts to support survivors, push for legislative reform, and co-edit the groundbreaking report, “Endless Tide: The Continuing Struggle to Overcome Anti-Asian Hate in New York.”
A Professor of Law at St. John’s University for over 21 years, she has been a dedicated mentor, championing diversity in legal education and helping nearly 300 students from underrepresented backgrounds enter the legal profession.
